As you know, Suzuki Engineering Corporation successfully works in many areas, including motor-building, the production of engines for water technology, and of course the automotive industry. And it all began with weaving looms in the distant 20s of the XX century.

In the automotive direction, until recently, Suzuki was famous for its jeeps, the direction of sedans was poorly implemented, which is why serious efforts in recent years have been aimed at creating and launching its representative three-volume on the market. They harnessed it for a long time and carefully, intrigued reviewers and buyers, tried different versions of concepts, and among them there were already several samples.

The first one, under the name Suzuki Kizashi Concept, was shown in 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it looked like a solid expensive and definitely non-trivial car, belonging to the category of a coupe and holding the eyes of visitors to the exhibition with its noble space design. It can be seen that the responsible and hardworking Japanese engineers did their best.
The second concept - Suzuki Kizashi Crossover, presented at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, looked completely different, looked like a sedan-crossover, but also caught the eye with its pure beauty, originality of lines and Japanese aristocracy.

However, life dictates its own rules, and since 2001, 30% of the shares (controlling stake) of Suzuki are owned by GM, the talented Japanese engineers had to listen to the opinion of marketers, who, by all accounts, were Americans, and as a result, in 2008 in New Concept Kizashi 3 - Suzuki Kizashi Sedan was presented at the York Auto Show. The latest show version had a much more "combed" shape, unmistakably reminiscent of all business-class sedans moving on the road today, although this concept was still elusively innovative and fresh. And the series went to the car that was presented at the New York Auto Show in 2009 and it does not have a drop of its first two prototypes.

Spent, not without result, three years that led to the release of a completely trivial sedan Suzuki Kizashi, the Japanese may need to come to terms with the current state of affairs (the balance of power) in the global automotive (and not only) market. Speaking of the great General Motors, everything that the company has acquired in recent decades and which it is closely involved in management eventually comes to naught, requiring constant subsidies from the state (taxpayers) of losses.

So about the new Kizashi - the design of the exterior of Suzuki Kizashi is decided in a classic style, this statement means, first of all, that it is designed for a wide range of tastes of buyers. A casual glance will not catch it from the stream of cars going to the meeting, but perhaps this is exactly what the company's marketers were counting on, because this is the first independently developed sedan from Suzuki (in 2004-2006, a Daewoo Magnus / Evanda with the Suzuki emblem was sold in the USA), there was no risk with him. Without the nameplate and the branded contour of the false radiator grille, the car looks like many sedans, being a kind of common simplified golden mean of their appearance.

The only nuance is a touch of light sportiness (which is the key marketing slogan of this model), which is manifested by a long hood, short overhangs, visually shortened trunk, and a guessed low drag coefficient.

The spirit of sportiness continues in the interior of the vehicle. The interior of the Suzuki Kizashi is equipped with a small steering wheel, behind which there are two deep wells for the speedometer and tachometer, which have a pleasant bluish backlight. The plastic texture of the dashboard is soft and pleasant to the touch. In general, the entire dashboard is designed in a sustained laconic style, emphasized by plastic inserts for aluminum.
The front seats of the Suzuki Kizashi are comfortable and have pronounced lateral bolsters. The back seat can accommodate three, but is molded for two passengers, the high central tunnel will interfere with the third.

In general, the interior of Suzuki Kizashi is characterized by good quality materials, assembly and fit of parts, as many as 8 airbags are hidden in it.

If we talk about the technical characteristics of the new sedan. Suzuki Kizashi can be front-wheel or all-wheel drive. So far, it is equipped with only one 2.4-liter engine with 185 horsepower, which is aggregated with a 6-speed manual or with a continuously variable variator. Front suspension - MacPherson strut, rear - multi-link aluminum, disc front and rear brakes, ABS, ESP, electric power steering, 18-inch aluminum wheels - and, which is unusual for Suzuki, everything from the category of options is already in the basic configuration.

The Kizashi sedan with its dimensions of length, height, width, base (4650 mm, 1480 mm, 1820 mm, 2700 mm) is a typical representative of the European class D. The competition in this class is quite high, so its behavior on the road is of particular interest. In the process of development and refinement, the car passed repeated tests on European race tracks, like real sports supercars.

Suzuki's auto engineers built the Kizashi from the ground up, and they ended up with a more dynamic car than would be possible on General Motors' platforms. The Kizashi's ride quality truly exhibits sporty demeanor without sacrificing comfort.

The price of Suzuki Kizashi in Russia starts at 995 thousand rubles (with “mechanics”). And you can buy a Suzuki Kizashi sedan with a CVT at a price of 1 175 ~ 1 255 thousand rubles.
