The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is a mid-size four-wheel drive “premium coupe SUV” that is positioned as the “sportiest model in the segment” ... It is addressed to wealthy people (regardless of gender and age) who want to get “signature Porsche dynamics” without sacrificing at the same time, practicality in everyday operation and without setting any strict limits for oneself, but considering the "ordinary Cayenne" not sufficiently progressive and emotional ...

The coupe-like crossover first appeared before the public on March 21, 2019 at a private event in Stuttgart - it was thrown into battle against rivals already entrenched in the market, similar in form factor, and, first of all, from German premium brands.

The SUV, built according to an already well-known recipe, not only distinguished itself with a swift design that evokes associations with the Porsche 911 coupe, but also extolled several unique solutions in this genre.

From the outside, the Porsche Cayenne Coupe looks really beautiful, emotional and harmonious, but it will not be difficult to identify it, even though it practically does not differ from the standard crossover up to the B-pillar. Well, further on, everything is different for the car - its roof slopes smoothly towards the stern, giving the appearance of swiftness, where it "flows" into a small "branch" of the trunk. From the rear, the five-door can be recognized not only due to the piled-up rear pillars and narrower glass, but also due to the place for fixing the number, located in the bumper.

The basic version of the coupe-like "Cayenne" is 4931 mm long, of which the wheelbase "extends" to 2895 mm, the width is 1983 mm, the height is 1676 mm (while the Turbo version is 8 mm longer, 6 mm wider and 23 mm lower). With a steel suspension, the vehicle's ground clearance is 210 mm, and with a pneumatic chassis, it varies from 190 to 245 mm, depending on the selected mode.

At the front, the interior of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe is virtually identical to that of a regular SUV - a beautiful and progressive design dominated by a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, impeccable ergonomics, exceptionally premium materials and a high level of workmanship.

By default, the interior of the coupe-like crossover has a four-seater layout: in front there are sports seats with integrated headrests, pronounced lateral support, dense filling, wide intervals of electrical adjustments and other "benefits of civilization", and at the back there are two separate seats with a large tray for small items in the center. True, as an option (and free), the usual three-seater sofa can be placed on the second row, however, even in this case, the third one will be "superfluous" here - all because of the high floor tunnel.

In terms of practicality, the Porsche Cayenne Coupe is slightly inferior to its standard “brother” - its trunk still has an ideal shape with smooth walls and high-quality finishing, but in normal condition it can only hold 625 liters of luggage (the Turbo version has 600 liters). "Gallery", divided into three parts in the ratio "40:20:40", folds flush with the floor, which increases the volume of the compartment to 1540 liters (1510 liters in the Turbo version).

For the coupe-like "Cayenne", two aluminum petrol engines are offered to choose from, which are combined with an 8-band "automatic" ZF and active all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch for connecting the front axle (by default, the rear wheels take 90% of the thrust):

  • The base car is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 direct injection engine, a twin-scroll turbocharger, an intercooler and variable valve timing and valve timing, developing 340 horsepower at 5300-6400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1340-5300 rpm.
  • Under the hood of the S version is the same unit as in the previous version, but "pumped" to 440 hp. at 5700-6600 rpm and 550 Nm of rotational potential at 1800-5500 rpm.
  • The Turbo modification relies on a 4.0-liter V-8 with twin twin-scroll turbochargers, direct power supply and variable valve timing, which produces 550 hp. at 5750-6000 rpm and 770 Nm of peak thrust at 1960-4500 rpm.

From a standstill to 100 km / h, the five-door "shoots" after 3.9-6 seconds, and is maximally capable of accelerating to 243-286 km / h (naturally, in favor of the Turbo version). For every "hundred" run in mixed conditions, the crossover spends from 9.3 to 11.4 liters of fuel, depending on the version.

At the same time, the car has quite a good off-road potential: for example, with a steel suspension it can force fords up to 500 mm deep, and with a pneumatic one - up to 530 mm.

Technically, the Coupe modification completely repeats the usual Cayenne - it is based on a modular MLB Evo bogie with a longitudinally mounted motor, a monocoque body, the construction of which consists of various grades of steel and aluminum, and an independent circular chassis (double lever front and rear multi-link).

The premium SUV comes standard with steel spring suspension with adaptive electronic dampers, while the Turbo version also boasts air struts.

The off-road vehicle's standard arsenal includes a rack-and-pinion steering mechanism with an active electromechanical amplifier, a fully-controlled chassis with steering rear wheels and powerful brakes with ventilated discs on all wheels. But if the base coupe-crossover is equipped with four-piston front and two-piston rear monoblock calipers made of aluminum (the diameter of the brake "pancakes" is 350 mm and 330 mm, respectively), then its S-modifications relies on six-piston and four-piston devices (the dimensions of the discs are 390 mm and 330 mm respectively), and the Turbo version "flaunts" ten-piston devices in front and four-piston at the rear (the size of the discs - 415 mm and 365 mm, respectively).

For a Porsche Cayenne Coupe in the basic version with a V6 engine, the Russian market asks for a minimum of 5,877,000 rubles, a more powerful version of the S cannot be purchased for less than 7,630,000 rubles, while the top-end Turbo modification will cost from 11,013,000 rubles.

Already in the "base", the coupe-like crossover boasts: six airbags, a panoramic roof, 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, Sport Chrono package, ABS, ASR, MSR, fully LED optics, fully-controlled chassis, dual-zone "climate", electric drive and heating front seats, a media center with a 12.3-inch display, an audio system with ten speakers, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and the darkness of other equipment.
