The Germans officially demonstrated a large family liftback with an internal plant index "G32" to the world community on June 14, 2017 - the five-door replaced the BMW 5 GT (body index "F07"), however, compared to the "predecessor" it became more beautiful and practical, enlarged in size and received the latest technology.

The exterior of the BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo is "drawn" in the current style of the German brand - the car looks attractive, solid and elegant enough, but from some angles it still demonstrates a bit of disproportion.

The aggressive front of the car is adorned with frowning LED headlights, grille "nostrils" and a sculpted bumper, while its powerful rear flaunts stylish lights and a pair of "curly" exhaust pipes integrated into the bumper.

Thanks to the long bonnet, the embossed side surfaces and the sloping roofline that "flows" into the barely noticeable "branch" of the trunk, the liftback, even with its impressive dimensions, has a graceful and dynamic profile, almost completely devoid of weight, the elegance of which is added by frameless glass.

The Gran Turismo "Six" is a full-size liftback with corresponding external dimensions: 5091 mm in length, 1538 mm in height and 1902 mm in width. The center distance of the "Bavarian" has a 3070 mm gap, and the ground clearance is 138 mm. Depending on the modification, the curb weight of the car varies from 1795 to 1955 kg.

Inside, the BMW 6 GT greets its riders with a noble and cozy atmosphere, while its design traces lightness, refinement, elegance and German perfection. In addition, the high status of the model is underlined by impeccable ergonomics, excellent workmanship and generous finishes in natural leather, aluminum and wood.

Directly in front of the driver - a multifunctional steering wheel of optimal dimensions and a laconic "toolbox" (as an option - completely virtual). The solid-looking center console flaunts the huge infotainment display and the family's climate and music controls.

The front seats of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo are not only a comfortable profile with well-defined sidewalls, but also comprehensive electric adjustment and heating ranges, and for an extra charge, ventilation and massage function.

The second row of seats is able to please even the most capricious passengers - here you can observe both a comfortable sofa and a solid supply of free space.

With practicality, the "premium five-door" is in complete order - its trunk has not only the correct shape, but also an impressive volume of 610 liters. The rear sofa folds down in three sections (in the ratio "40:20:40"), as a result of which a completely flat area is formed, and the capacity increases to 1800 liters.

For the Russian market, the BMW 6-Series GT liftback is offered in four modifications, each of which is equipped with an 8-band "automatic" (the basic petrol version has a rear-wheel drive transmission, and the rest - the xDrive all-wheel drive technology, which by default distributes power in a ratio of "40:60 »In favor of the rear axis):

  • Basic variant - BMW 630i - contains under its hood a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with four in-line "pots", direct injection, a turbocharger, 16 valves and variable valve timing, producing 249 horsepower at 5000-6500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1550-4400 rpm.
    Such a car “shoots” from the start to 100 km / h after 6.3 seconds, accelerates to a maximum of 250 km / h and “eats” no more than 7 liters of fuel in a combined cycle.
  • Most powerful BMW performance 640i xDrive, which has in its arsenal a 3.0-liter in-line gasoline "six" with two turbochargers, direct "power supply" technology, 24-valve timing and adjustable valve timing, which produces 340 "horses" at 5500-6500 rpm and 450 Nm peak output at 1380-5200 rpm.
    With such a "heart" the liftback exchanges the second "hundred" in 5.3 seconds, reaches a peak of 250 km / h and "drinks" about 8.5 liters of fuel in a combined mode.
  • Starting diesel version - BMW 630d xDrive... It is powered by a six-cylinder 3.0-liter in-line unit, battery injection, turbocharging and 24 valves, generating 249 stallions at 4000 rpm and 620 Nm of available thrust at 2000-2500 rpm.
    The first "hundred" of such a car conquers after 6 seconds, its maximum capabilities do not exceed 250 km / h, and the "appetite" fits into 5.7 liters in mixed conditions.
  • BMW's "top" diesel solution 640d xDrive boasts the same engine as the previous modification, but here its performance is raised to 320 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 680 Nm of torque at 1750-2250 rpm.
    The first 100 km / h, this five-door "eats" after 5.3 seconds, rushes to the maximum of 250 km / h, and "drinks" no more than 6.5 liters of fuel in the "highway / city" mode for every "hundred" of the run.

The basis for the BMW 6th series Gran Turismo is the modular CLAR "bogie", and its design is widely used high-strength types of steel and aluminum (the latter are made of the doors, hood, luggage cover and rear parts of the side members).

An independent double wishbone suspension is used on the front axle of the car, and pneumatic elements with the function of automatically maintaining the height of the body are used on the rear. Front air suspension, active stabilizers and adaptive dampers are offered as an option for the five-door.

The liftback has a rack and pinion steering system with electric power steering and variable gear ratio.

At the front, the car flaunts ventilated disc brakes, and at the back - the usual "pancakes" (by default with a whole "bouquet" of modern electronics).

In the Russian market, the BMW 6-Series GT 2018 model year is offered at a price of 3,560,000 rubles - this is how much dealers ask for the basic version of the 630i GT. By default, the car is equipped with: six airbags, an infotainment complex, ABS, ESP, full LED optics, dynamic cruise, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, heated front seats and steering wheel, an audio system with six speakers, two-zone " climate ", a rearview camera, starting the engine from a button and the darkness of other modern equipment ... For the modification of the 630d xDrive GT you will have to pay a minimum of 4,070,000 rubles, for the 640i xDrive GT - 4,090,000 rubles, and for the 640d xDrive GT - 4,590,000 rubles ...
