In June 2016, at the international auto show held in the South Korean city of Busan, the official premiere of not only the premium Genesis G80 sedan, but also its "heated" modification with the "Sport" prefix, which received sporting touches in design and a turbocharged engine in the engine compartment, took place. In his homeland, the "Korean" went on sale in October of the same year, and the next year began to develop other world markets (in Russia, a 370-horsepower car appeared in March 2017).

From the outside, identifying the Genesis G80 Sport against the standard version is not difficult - it stands out with aggressive bumpers in the style of body kits from Mercedes-AMG, a radiator grille with a coarse mesh, a rear diffuser with a pair of "double-barrel" exhaust system and larger wheel rims of a unique design. Thanks to such improvements, the sedan began to play with new colors - without losing its solidity, it became noticeably sportier.

In terms of overall dimensions, the "heated" model does not differ from its "base brother": length - 4990 mm, wheelbase - 3010 mm, width and height - 1890 mm and 1480 mm, respectively.

Inside, the Genesis G80 Sport as a whole repeats the decoration of an ordinary sedan - a modern and presentable design, extremely expensive materials, ergonomics verified to the smallest detail and the highest level of comfort for all riders.

The “heated” model can be recognized by the sports steering wheel and front seats, the seats in perforated two-tone leather and the use of suede and carbon fiber trims.

The trunk of the car has a 493-liter volume as standard.

Specifications

The engine compartment of the "sporty" Genesis G80 "hides" a 3.3-liter V6 T-GDI petrol engine with two turbochargers and direct fuel injection, generating a herd of 370 "stallions" at 6000 rpm and 510 Nm of maximum thrust at 1300-4500 rpm / minute.

In the “state”, an 8-band automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive transmission interact with the engine, and as an option, the proprietary HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive all-wheel drive technology with a multi-plate clutch in the front wheel drive is offered, which has “normal” and “sport” modes of operation.

Structurally, the Genesis G80 Sport does not differ significantly from the base model - a rear-wheel drive platform, double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, a supporting body with a decent share of high-strength steel, electric power steering with variable characteristics and ventilated "pancakes" of the brake system "in a circle".
In the "base" the sedan has an adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers, which is tuned for the sake of gambling, and reinforced brakes.

Options and prices

In South Korea, the "heated" version of the G-80 is sold at a price of 66.5 million won, and in the Russian market (in spring 2017) it is offered in the Ultimate configuration at a price of ≈3.99 million rubles.

As standard, the car is equipped with: nine airbags, a multimedia system with screens for rear riders, premium Lexicon "music", active "cruise", adaptive suspension, 19-inch wheels, pedestrian recognition function, heated all seats, panoramic video review system, full power accessories, LED headlights and lanterns, ABS, ESP and a huge number of other "gadgets".
