The second generation Nissan Tiana was seen on the Nissan podium at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2008. The novelty inherits the image of the Nissan Intima concept car. Already in May of the same 2008, sales of the new Nissan Teana J32 started in Japan and Russia. As part of the review, we will try to evaluate all the positive changes that Japanese designers and engineers have made to their brainchild.

The appearance of the second generation Nissan Teana echoes its predecessor Teana J31, but the designers of the Nissan company managed to save the novelty from the heaviness and stiffness inherent in the appearance of the first generation model. The front triangular headlamps with their sharp corners directed towards the center tend to merge with a neat false radiator grille with horizontal chrome strips, and in the opposite direction they go with tips on the front fenders.

The front bumper with a lower air duct, fog lights and stylish chrome moldings looks light and airy. The profile of the second Nissan Tiana generally repeats the image of the previous generation, the same large wheel arches (wheels from 205/65 R16 to 215/55 R17) and doorways, large side windows, a familiar sloping roofline, an abundance of chrome elements. According to the requirements of the time, repeaters of turns appeared in the side mirrors.

The rear of the Nissan Teana J32 is monumental. The lighting fixtures with LED lamps fit into the stern beautifully and harmoniously. The raised rear bumper with chrome moldings looks light and sporty. The large luggage compartment lid looks lean. From any angle, the 2nd generation Nissan Teana is beautiful, fresh and athletic. At the same time, the car looks expensive and evokes the idea of ​​a close relationship with Infiniti.
The overall dimensions of the new Nissan Tiana have slightly increased and are now 4850 mm long, 1795 mm wide, 1495 mm high, the wheelbase remains the same - 2775 mm. The ground clearance has increased to 150 mm. It would seem that an increase of 15 mm in comparison with the first generation of Tiana is insignificant, but the body and suspension elements will suffer less on our roads (by the way, in some places protection of components and assemblies appeared). And later, the Nissan Teana J32 received an All Mode 4 × 4 all-wheel drive system - Nissan Tiana J32 4WD. The torsional and bending rigidity of the body has increased, and the already excellent noise and sound insulation of the interior of the new Teana has improved.

Inside, the 2nd generation Nissan Teana is truly luxurious. The second-generation Tiana interior is completely new, ranging from the front dashboard with smooth lines and curves, the Fine Vision dashboard, climate control units and infinity-style infinity media, to the seats and door cards.
The interior filling is worth considering in as much detail as possible. A laconic dashboard with wooden inserts, the center console houses: a 7-inch display (monochrome in the base, depending on the rise in price of a complete set of color VGA or touchscreen Touch Screen), music from a simple CD MP3 RDS with six speakers to an advanced Bose 5.1 Digital Surround with 11 speakers and a 9.3 GB music server, DVD, Nissan Connect Premium navigator (Russian maps) and a rear view camera, dual-zone climate control. Stylish steering wheel - with a combined finish (wood and leather) and archaic steering column adjustment only in height, the instruments are informative and readable. The front seats provide a royal level of comfort, especially in the top-end configuration (electric drive with position memory, heating, ventilation, massage), and the passenger seat also has an Ottoman seat footrest.
Passengers in the second row are given no less attention, there is enough space in all directions. At the back there are air ducts, heated and ventilated seats (music and climate control in the second row armrest - in the expensive Premium configuration). The seat trim is velor and, of course, leather of all kinds of colors.
The presence of light and rain sensors, power and heated mirrors, cruise control, power windows, keyless entry and engine start with a button are taken for granted. The selection of materials, the level of assembly and equipment of the new Nissan Teana J32 correspond to the premium segment of the European business class. The volume of the luggage compartment of the second generation Nissan Tiana has increased in comparison with the luggage compartment of the Teana J31 and is 488 liters, in the back of the rear seats there is a hatch for long loads.

Specifications - for the second generation Nissan Teana, only six-cylinder gasoline engines are now available - VQ25DE V6 2.5 (182 hp) and VQ35DE V6 3.5 (249 hp), paired with a continuously variable Xtronic-CVT variator. The older V6 3.5 is practically a copy of the engine installed on the Nissan 350Z sports coupe. The front suspension is independent with MacPherson struts, the rear is independent multi-link. Front and rear disc brakes with ABS and EBD, as well as Brake Assist (emergency braking assistance) are available as standard, ESP (directional stability) and TSC (traction control) systems are present in more expensive versions of the Nissan Teana J32. The power steering is electro-hydraulic with variable effort (the effort depends on the driving speed).

Test Drive demonstrates the result of the work of the technical filling of the second generation Nissan Teana - its comfortable driving characteristics. The engineers of the company changed the characteristics of the suspension, the car began to roll even less in corners, and its behavior became even more predictable, the information content on the steering wheel was added. At the same time, the Nissan Tiana did not lose its trademark softness of the ride and complete indifference to the road surface of poor quality. Nissan Teana J32, like its predecessor J31, treats its passengers with care and is able to give them a lot of positive emotions from the trip.
Both engines readily consume 92nd gasoline. The tandem V6 2.5 (182 hp) with a CVT will suit the economical driver, the average fuel consumption is 9-10 liters. Dynamics up to "hundreds" - 9.6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 200 km / h. The engine has enough power, the engine through the variator imperceptibly accelerates the car and at the same time in the cabin there is almost absolute silence.
The sporting inclinations of the V6 3.5 (249 hp) are torn out, as if the engine wants to work at high revs constantly, provoking the driver to violate the speed limit. When accelerating to the first "hundred" in 7.2 seconds, the roar of the engine is annoying, the "maximum speed" reaches 210 km / h (electronically limited), the average fuel consumption declared by the manufacturer is 10.5-11 liters (in real conditions, 13-14 liters).

Options and prices. In the Russian market, Nissan Teana J32 in 2012 is offered in nine trim levels. The price of the most affordable Nissan Teana in the Elegance 2.5 (182 hp) CVT configuration is 999,000 rubles. A car for that kind of money will have: velor interior, Fine Vision instruments, 7-inch monochrome display with 2 DIN radio CD MP3, steel wheels with 205/65 R16 tires, on-board computer, dual-zone climate control, alarm, light sensor, heating front seats and other pleasant things.
The top Nissan Teana Premium V6 3.5 (249 hp) with a CVT variator is offered at a price of 1,486,000 rubles. This modification will be stuffed to the eyeballs: there is a leather interior, an electric driver's seat in eight directions, a passenger seat in four with an Ottoman seat stand, heating and ventilation of all seats, a glass roof with a sunroof, dual-zone climate control with a control unit for rear passengers, xenon, 7-inch color touchscreen display with rear view camera and GPS navigator, Bose 5.1 Digital Surround music and much, much more.
For Russian motorists, the second generation Nissan Teana (J32) is produced in St. Petersburg.
