The first generation Honda S2000 sports roadster made its official premiere in 1999, and its debut was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Japanese company, but first appeared in public in the fall of 1995 at the Tokyo Auto Show as an SSM concept. In 2003, the car underwent an update, as a result of which it received minor design improvements and an expanded range of equipment, and was produced until 2004, giving way to the second generation model on the conveyor.

The "first" Honda S2000 is a two-door roadster in the compact class with a soft or hard retractable top.

The machine is 4135 mm long, its width does not exceed 1750 mm, and its height is 1290 mm.

The "Japanese" has a wheelbase of 2400 mm, and under its "belly" there is a 130 mm ground clearance. The "travel" weight of a sports car varies from 1240 to 1260 kg, depending on the modification.

Specifications. For the Honda S2000 of the original embodiment, there are three gasoline atmospheric "fours" with a distributed fuel supply, an aluminum block "pots", a 16-valve timing and variable valve timing. On the car, you can find engines with a volume of 2.0 and 2.2 liters, producing from 239 to 250 horsepower and from 208 to 221 Nm of torque. All engines are equipped with a 6-speed "manual" transmission and drive wheels of the rear axle.

The first "release" of the roadster is based on a lightweight X-frame made of aluminum, integrated into the body, with an ideal weight distribution between the axles (50/50). The suspension of the car is completely independent with sporty settings - double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear.
The rack and pinion steering gear of the "Japanese" includes in its structure an electric power steering, and its brake complex combines disc devices of four wheels and ABS.

Among the advantages of the car are classy appearance, reliable construction, powerful engines, excellent dynamics, perfected handling, high level of performance, good equipment and exclusivity on Russian roads.
But it also has its drawbacks - a stiff suspension, expensive maintenance, a low level of practicality and a large fuel "appetite".

Prices. In the secondary market of Russia, the "first" Honda S2000 in 2016 is sold at a price of 600 thousand rubles and more.
